Strawberry Tarts

Here is the recipe of strawberry tarts, the one I promised from my previous post. This tart is easier than it looks. Even my husband can make it! (no, I'm lying :p)

To make this, you'll need:
-Ready to use puff pastry cases
-Whipped cream
-Pastry cream (which I took from here)
-Strawberry of course!

How to:
-Filled the pastry case with pastry cream (not too much, because you want some room for other things)
-Sliced the strawberry and arrange it like you want.
-Last but not least, put some whipped cream around it. And you done!

Easy? Yes! Quick? Yes! Tasty? Of course!
This tarts they taste so nice and light and not too sweet, so you feel like you always want to eat more (at least I did :p)

Enjoy!

All about strawberry

Last weekend I finally got to go to a farm to pick strawberries. I've been wanting to do this since summer last year. So of course I was over excited to go there, even though the weather was a bit cloudy.
I had to control my self not to pick everything there.. hehehe.. But still end up with almost 3 kg of strawberries! I freeze half of them.. :p

So the next day I made these for our desserts (husband helped me too)

Strawberry tarts (recipe coming soon!)

Chocolate covered strawberries

Actually I'm not that crazy about berries family, they're a bit too sour for me. But since strawberry really expensive in Indonesia, so I'm happy that I can get them very cheap here plus I can pick them by my self too ^^

Oh, FYI my husband made those chocolate strawberries. How cool is that?!
And as I promise, I'll give you the recipe of the tarts soon :)

Have a nice day

Happy Annniversary!!!

Happy anniversary to me and my husband!!! ^^
The last 2 years, many things happened. Sad, happy, exciting moments, but I'm sure many more things will happen more in the future.

I know I know this is unrelated to what I've posted before. But I just want to share this joy feeling I have right now. While my beloved ones (husband and daughter) still sleeping peacefully, I'm here writing this down to let you know what I feel right now :)

My husband is the best husband in the world, he always want to see me happy no matter what. And thing he hates the most is to see me cry. You see? How many guys like that in the world? Not many! So I'm definitely very lucky ^^

Last year we did't get to celebrate our 1st anniversary, so this year, I made a special cake for our day. Its very rich chocolate mousse covered in fondant and decorated with lots and lots of sugar flowers (I almost got sick from sugar so I ate lots and lots of chili sauce with everything I eat, make sense?!)

Well, anyway, it turned out like I wanted. So we ate it last night, for our special dinner. We ate it with mixed berries. The berries just make the taste complete. And since yesterday was mid summer here in Sweden, so I decided to do a "mid summer theme" cake. Voila! Flowery cake! Visit my flickr to see more pictures of the cake.

Hope you have a nice weekend with your family and friend.

Happy sunday!

Double Choco Treats

This treat is super duper easy to make, you can even take your little one to be involved in the making. Basically its the same thing like rice krispies treats. And I can't tell you which one better, because I love love both of them.

To make this you'll need:

200 g any chocolate cereal (I use koko krunch)
300 g any chocolate you want ( I use dark chocolate)
50 g toasted almonds
Sprinkles

How to:
-Melt chocolate in microwave or in a double pot
-Pour cereals and almonds in the chocolate
-Scoop into the size you want
-Pour sprinkles on them while they still a bit wet
-Put in the fridge for around 10 to 15 minutes
-Enjoy
See, very easy right?
And its good for afternoon or evening snacks (or whenever snack too :p)

Coconut Cupcakes

Gosh! Its been a while since my last post. Last week been a bit busy for me. My little puhi puhi (new nickname for my daughter) was sick, she was teething. Her 2 upper teeth was growing and she got fever for 4 days. So basically I couldn't do anything. Not even do grocery shopping. So me and my husband had to survive with what we have in the fridge, and buy some other stuffs in the nearest shop.
But thank God she's ok now. Because I really don't like to see her just laying down, no energy and looking very ill. So, yesterday I made some cupcakes (new recipe). Coconut cupcake with cream cheese frosting (order now! lol) :p
In the recipe it says it'll make for 20 cupcakes. So I just made half of the recipe. At the end I got 16 cupcakes!!! Oh wow!!!
Since 16 cupcakes a bit too much for my husband, I decided to give some to my friend today. She's having a name giving party for her new born baby girl.

Happy sunday everyone!

New Family In The Menu!!!

Yaaaaaaaay!!! Now we have new family member in the menu. Macarons!
I made them yesterday, chocolate with chocolate ganache and lemon with lemon buttercream. You can now order them as well for your birthday party, wedding or any other occasions :)
But only those two flavours for now, because before I put something in the menu, I have to try it first. So, please be patient until I put more flavours in macaron section :)

Kitchen War?

I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. This kind of mess you will get when you have a big project like I had last weekend. As you know, I joined a contest of cupcakes here in Sweden. So I made a bunch of cupcakes (standard and mini) to be decorated. And I had some ideas for them. I mean it when I say some :p
So I split them into (I dunno how many) groups / themes.

I know, scary right?

As you can see there I have all my decorating stuffs, and if you notice the small vase (its actually a cup :D) with flowers in it, that was my mini cupcakes bouquet. And I use that egg box as my flower forms. Very cheap but effective :p

It took me 2 days to decorate all the cupcakes. Almost got sick of them, and because my husband is a bit stingy with sweets, he didn't want to share all cupcakes I made with friends and neighbours. Now he still working to finish all of them (I help him a bit. lol) :p

So, thats all I can report from my working space (aka lonely dinning table in the corner of the kitchen that we never use for eating) last weekend. Don't be scared to come back again ^.^

Miss Cupcake

Miss cupcake is a contest from Dr.Oetker here in Sweden. And this is also my very first cupcake / cake competition since I have that hobby obsession in cake decorating. I think this kind of thing is good for a beginner like me. Because the prize is pushing my creativity and skill more :p
But as usual, I doubt it that I'll get the first place. There are lots of pretty cupcakes there in the competition already. But still, I want to join it anyway, beside it doesn't hurt if I got the first prize right? ;)

So below is my cupcakes that I put in the competition. And you can click the link to give vote for my cupcakes :)

Random post about my family

What is the first thing that came out from your mind when you hear a word "family"?
Well, for me family means everything. I love my family a bit too much. But thats ok, its not a crime to love your family too much :p

Last sunday, I was in a "model mood". So, I decided to take a family picture (I always want to have a family picture hanging on the wall). We dressed up in white to make it nice, clean and simple.

As you can see there, that is my husband and my daughter. Apparently my daughter interested more in my necklace than the camera. From hundreds pictures, not even one picture when she's looking to the camera :p
Those two people now the most important ones for me. Everything I do, only for them. And I love them a looooooot :)

New Cuppie Flavour

It has been a while since my last post. Didn't have any chance to make anything worth to be posted last week. Because some of my friends came over to visit me.
But I did make something though.. I made super mini tiny tiramisu cupcakes.
Why mini tiny? Because.. I never thought that they would be super small, just like petit-fours. 1 bite then gone!
Even my husband can eat a lot of them (I mean it when I say he can eat a lot :p)

So, luckily he took a picture of the last single cupcake before he eats everything. And pardon for the hi-fi picture here :p

For more cupcake pictures jump to my flickr. Also, if you want to try this tiramisu cupcake, you can order now! :)

Happy Saturday!

Crunchy Chocolate Cookies

I made these cookies on sunday. Was craving for cookies in the early morning like 5 am or something. But I'm not pregnant! :p Just felt like eating cookies, since its been a while.
So, I googled crunchy cookies recipes. Couldn't find it anywhere!!! Most of them are chewy, and I don't like chewy cookies or candies. I just don't like chewy things!

So then I googled some more, finally I found this recipe. I checked the ingredients, checked my cupboard. Perfect! The next minute I already preheat my oven and start weighing the ingredients.

I got this recipe from very best baking, but I used less sugar from the recipe. And its already sweet enough from me. I also used dark and white chocolate in it. But no nuts :(
Since I didn't plan on making them. Will be perfect if you put nuts in it as well (except coconut maybe :p).

If you like crunchy cookies, you should definitely try this.

Lily Cupcakes

Yesterday, I gathered all my mood and confidence to make this lily (again!) after the first disaster. When I made it the first time, the yellow part was a loooooooot bigger than the petal :p
I felt like crying and a bit desperate, and keep telling my self that I don't have any talent making sugar flowers. But then my kind husband keep telling me that I just need to practice more.

And here it is, my second attempt on making Calla Lily. Even though it doesn't look real, but I'm quite happy with it.

See? Hehehe :D

If I have time some time, maybe I'll make a post how to make it :)

Happy Baking everyone!

Princess Cake

So, it was my birthday last tuesday. I decided to make a birthday cake for my self (its safer than my husband made it for me) :P
This time I made Princess cake. It's a traditional Swedish cake for birthday and stuff.
Inside the cake is, vanilla sponge, strawberry jam, custard cream and cream. Covered with marzipan...
It was really nice cake (not because I made it. lol) But because it wasn't so sweet. Thats why I liked it :)
